Writing emails in Mozilla Thunderbird using Markdown
Mozilla Thunderbird is an excellent mail client. Markdown is an excellet markup language.
Combined, they provide an efficient, elegant and very user-friendly e-mail system.
For a while the Markdown plugin in Thunderbird was unavailable. But now it is back, thanks to a volunteer developer.
Now you can simply open the Thunderbird Preferences window and select Extensions & Themes in the bottom left corner:
compile the Find more add-ons field by inserting the word Markdown:
and launch the Markdown Here Revival plugin:
At the end of the installation you will have the Markdown environment available in the writing field of Thunderbird:
To toggle between code and rendered text you have to press the icon in the top right corner:
Here is an example of text composed in Markdown in the Thunderbird input field:
