Mozilla Thunderbird is an excellent mail client. Markdown is an excellet markup language.

Combined, they provide an efficient, elegant and very user-friendly e-mail system.

For a while the Markdown plugin in Thunderbird was unavailable. But now it is back, thanks to a volunteer developer.

Now you can simply open the Thunderbird Preferences window and select Extensions & Themes in the bottom left corner:

Mozilla Thunderbird Preferences

compile the Find more add-ons field by inserting the word Markdown:

Find more add-ons

and launch the Markdown Here Revival plugin:

Markdown Here Revival

At the end of the installation you will have the Markdown environment available in the writing field of Thunderbird:

To toggle between code and rendered text you have to press the icon in the top right corner:

Toggle Markdown Icon

Here is an example of text composed in Markdown in the Thunderbird input field:

Thank you for your attention.
